Burning Fog Sunrise

Took this photo at sunrise on a slightly foggy day from Taylor's Point in Jamestown. I remember being at little disappointed, thinking where did the fog go? But with the water being pretty calm I captured what became one of my favorite photos!

Pell Bridge Warm Sunshine

A few things I recall from this shot, one is getting over wasn't easy, nor was getting as large sections were blocked off by ice. I found the tide had gone up on my way back, so ended up having to slide across the ice like seal. The other is sensation of frozen seaweed, not that unfrozen seaweed is really that better, but the feeling you get walking on it is, well, a little uncomfortable!

Pell Bridge Red White and Blue Series: Lavender

Just before the sun set the sky turned a beautiful shade of lavender. The bridge put on a show by wearing dazzling spectators in RWB colors. Makes for a picturesque scene. :-D

A Bridge to Dreams

I woke up early on a February morning of all months, after hearing the night before they were expecting fog overnight. When I got there I couldn't believe it! Newport was shrouded in a layer of fog, meanwhile the sun was just starting to rise, thus the beautiful shades of pink and purple. This will probably always be the most surreal scene that I'll ever capture. It's a one of kind photo, and one my all time favorites.

While the fog isn't what I had during my Bridge of Dreams of photo, there was a sill a bit to add that layer of mystery of in the distance. This photo is a bracketed long exposure, so that I could have dynamic range and make the water appear to be a layer of solid ice. As you can also see the rocks at Taylor point were icy, getting over to this point was a rather precarious adventure. If I have to crawl to where I want to get, I will!

Golden Pell Ripples

So often, when the winds are calm, I pop on my 10 stop ND filter and slowly fire away. And while I of course did that this day, I also decided that the reflections are just so great I should take some without it! Glad I did!
